Day 2: Be the Match

A few weeks ago I read about Ceci Christenson, a young teen who was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), the name for a group of blood disorders, in September 2009.

Her 'make a wish' was to raise awareness about the match program for bone morrow.

"According to the National Marrow Donor Program, seventy percent of people do not have a donor in their family depend on the program’s Be The Match Registry® to find a compatible donor."

I did it this morning - it was easy! 4 swabs around the inside of the cheeks each, and you just slide the kit in an postage paid envelope, and place it in the mailbox!

Result: Myself, and many others are sending these swabs in with the intention that we could be the match for someone and maybe even help save a life <3 How cool would that be? Thanks for reading and the support! I'm excited for tomorrows act of kindness already!

How did you get the kit? Did you order it from the site?

Karyls, click the link and then click on "send me a home kit"

You'll be taken to the register page. Once you complete that, they'll mail you a kit!
